IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kwesi
Jackson
August 10, 1974 – May 20, 2018
KWESI SEKOU JACKSON
,
born August 10, 1974 to Linda
and Wayne Jackson transitioned on Sunday, May 20,2018 in his
childhood home surrounded by family and friends. His name
chosen by his parents to reflect his African heritage means Born
on Sunday and living up to its meaning, Kwesi chose to be
reborn on a Sunday. His spiritual connection with The Most
High allowed Kwesi to be at peace with his short battle with
pancreatic cancer.
As a young boy Kwesi was always curious and eager to learn,
something everyone around him noted. At an early age Kwesi
loved spending time in nature, which stemmed from camping
trips with family and friends during the summer months.
Kwesi had a competitive spirit, training in the art of karate until
he reached a brown belt. He competed in various tournaments
and won numerous trophies throughout his elementary and
middle school years.
Kwesi was educated in the Baltimore City public school system,
attending Windsor Hills and Hilton Elementary, Fallstaff
Middle and graduating from Walbrook Sr. High School, Class
of 1992. The friendships and connections he made while in
school continued throughout his life.
Around the age of 10, Kwesi began learning the electrical trade
while going out with his father on different jobs. From then
on, he spent majority of his summer vacations working side by
side with his father. Kwesi played an intricate role in building
the family's business. In 2001, Kwesi became a licensed Master
Electrician. In addition to his electrical trade, Kwesi was also an
amazing barber. He started cutting family and friends hair at
home and eventually earned a spot at A Perfect Cut Barbershop
on Garrison Blvd. Kwesi worked in both fields until his illness
no longer allowed him to do so.
Kwesi lived life to the fullest, with family being the center
of it all. He loved attending family gatherings and always
supported everyone in their endeavors. He delighted in listening
to various genres of music, especially jazz, going to concerts,
cultural festivals, comedy shows, the best parties and just
having a good time. Known for always having a smile on his
face and showing love to everyone wherever he went, Kwesi
truly lived a life of love.
Kwesi leaves to cherish his memory: parents, Wayne & Linda
