LaJetta C. Brooks, daughter of the late Leroy O. Brooks Sr. and Dolores Wade, was born on November 10, 1962 in Baltimore, Maryland. She departed this life on March 16, 2008. She was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System and graduated from Walbrook Senior High School. She also received her cosmetology license in 1990 from Northwest Beauty School. She furthered her studies by attending Howard County Community College for nursing. She received her LPN license in July of 1992 and her Associate of Science degree in nursing from the Community College of Baltimore County as a registered nurse RN. She received many awards and citations that were related to her life and nursing career. She started her nursing career at Rosewood State Hospital, Stella Maris Hospice, Genesis and most recently at Springfield State Hospital, for the past ten years, until her untimely death. LaJetta had great compassion, passion and love for her patients. ''It was never just a job'' for her. Her love went beyond the patient and nurse relationship. She had a genuine love for God's people, to help the needy and the ill no matter who the person was. She leaves to mourn; her mother, Dolores Wade; four sisters, LaVerne Wade Washington, Letitia Wade, Lois Wade and Patricia Wright; four brothers, Lamont Wade, Leroy Brooks, Larry Brooks and Leroy Brooks; two aunts, Naomi Standford and Ruth Stewart Aunt Sissi; brother-in-law, Jimi Washington; sister-in-law, Stephanie Wade; two uncles, Andre King and Milton Stewart Sr. Uncle Mutt; thirteen nieces, eleven nephews, a host of cousins, other relatives and friends including special friends, Gladys, Terry, Darlene, Wendy, Timblin, ''Brian,'' Dr. Hafiz, Rona, Kim, Nettie and many, many more.
