LaKeya Maria Augins, known to family and friends as Keya, daughter of Mary Ray and Darrell Augins Sr. Born on January 28, 1982, at GBMC in Towson, MD. She received her education through Baltimore City school systems. Growing up Lakeya was the eldest of her siblings which meant being a role mode protector, and source of support that offered guidance, friendship, encouragement and a pro founding love to. " them.
Lakeya enjoyed the outdoors, hanging with friends, partying and making everyone around feel welcomed. She was definitely a people person and never wanted anyone to feel left out. Despite her health issues, Keya always took the time to catch up with her friends and loved ones. Lakeya was a devoted mother of seven beautiful children. She was a constant presence in their lives; always showing up with her radiant smile and infectious laugh to her oh so delicious banana pudding. From birthdays to graduations, she celebrated every moment with them. Her warm hugs, unconditional love, and pride in becoming a grandmother will be deeply missed. Though her physical presence is no longer with us, her spirit lives of her children her greatest legacy. Keya will be remembered most for her loving spirit unwavering support and the joy she brought to family gathering and friendly get togethers. Her presence filled very room with kindness, laughter and comfort. Whether offering a listening ear, words of encouragement or simply a warm embrace, LaKeya's nurturing heart touched countless lives. She truly lived for those she loved and loved without condition.
LaKeya leaves to mourn: her mother, Mary Ray-Hatwood, her father, Darrell Augins, seven children Dontaz, Destiny, Perez Jr., Dijuan, Diyonia, Dymond, and Jaylen. Granddaughter Wynter Marie, Grandmothers, Mary Whye and Elna Augins Two Grandfathers Vernon Augins and James Ray Sr., Four siblings Darrell, Michael, Teaira and Monique. and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Her legacy of love, strength, and family devotion will live on through her children and everyone blessed to have known her.
