Raised in Baltimore, where he attended and graduated from Douglas High School in 1994. At 16 years old, while attending Douglas, he met the love of his life Crystal.Thetwoofthem where inseparable, and from their school days and 20 year marriage, Lyier and Matthew were born. Crystal was his bestfriend. They enjoyed date nights, watching movies, spemling time with the family and countless hoursoftalking to each other.Whenyou saw Lamont you saw Crystal. Lamont spent his days watching cooking shows and preparing meals from many different cultures for his family andfriends. There could be no meal without the beer. No matterwhere we went, homeoron vacation, he woke up at the breakofdawn to take a walk. Someone would always say they spotted him walking all over town. Lamont could never get with the new music of today, he loved his oldies, from StevieWonderto Wu-Tang. Lamont was always an outgoing person.Hegreeted everyone with a death grip hung, a pat on the back, as if you were choking, and rough-house handshake. Lamont also enjoyed entertaining his grandson, nieces and nephews. Family was everything to him, he always wanted to be involved and have deeptalkswith the youth.
Lamont was always a hard working man and provider for his family.He worked 16 years at various facilities as a residential counselor. Woodbourne Center, serving Baltimore Youth and Families, being his last place of employment.
Lamont leaves to cherish his memory his devotedwife,Crystal Smith. His two children, Lyier and Matthew. His mother, Deborah Grier; his mother-in-law,JoAnn Boyd-White (Anthony); two brothers, Jeremy Smith and Kenneth SmithJr.; one sister, Kamira Smith; two brother-in-law's, Zayde Boyd (Lisa) and JeromeBoyd (Deborah); two sisters-in-law, Zaire Boyd-Johnson (Willie) and Stephon Gee; one grandson, Torry Gardner, III. A hostofaunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and dear close friends. Everyone who knewhimwillsincerely miss him.
