IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Laroy Smith,
Jr.
February 4, 1981 – September 30, 2018
Laroy Smith Jr., son of Laroy Smith and Valerie Smith was born
on February 4, 1981 in Baltimore, Maryland. Laroy departed this
life on September 30, 2018 after a lengthy illness at University
of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, MD.
Roy as he was affectionately known, was educated in the Baltimore
City Public School System where he graduated from Walbrook High
School. He later attended North American Trade Schools where he
took up Electrical Technology. He was a g~y of many talents/jobs
and always enjoyed learning something new.
Laroy married his soul mate Tiara Hines in 2014. Roy was a husband,
dad, uncle, brother, son, friend, he was Grams, a teddy bear to hold
onto and also a comedian. Laroy loved all that was true to him. He
always said he wanted to grow old and have hearing aids and see his
children succeed. If you knew him, then you knew during the week
please don't bother him at 10 a.m. because he was fussing and
laughing at Stephen A. Smith (ESPN First Take). Laroy loved to eat
and you were bound to run into him at Mikes, Lexington Market or
New York Fried Chicken. He may yell or fuss but he always meant well.
He was a family man with an infectious laugh, who was loved by all.
To know him was to love him. You couldn't be around Roy and not get
cracked on; he was always cracking jokes. Laroy loved to sing. His
favorite song was Boyz II Men (New Edition).
He loved to be by the water and take many trips. He led a wonderful
and free life.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife, Tiara Hines; 3 children,
Jordan Smith, Laniya Smith and Laroy Smith III; mother, Valerie Smith;
his dad, Laroy Smith (who preceded him in death); 2 siblings, Regina Smith
(Tim) and Jason Lennon; mother-in-law, LaTaiya Nicholson Parker' two aunts,
Joann Murry (Calvin) and Sharon (who preceded him in death) to
Uncle William Hoes and Harvey Hoes; a very special friend that was more
like family Tavon Edwards and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
