Larry Darnell Purdie went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 15, 2018 in Baltimore, Maryland. He was the son of Verlie Delcinia Kitt and James Purdie.

"Purdie," as he was known to many, was a 1968 graduate of Baltimore City College. He also attended Towson University. After school, he moved to New Jersey with his first wife, Denise Purdie-Goodwin. That union was blessed with one daughter, LaRell DeNea Purdie. In 1995, Purdie moved back to Baltimore, MD, and in 1997 he met his second wife, Diane Scipio-Purdie. That union was also blessed with a daughter, Katina Victoria Purdie.

He worked for Dowell Schlumberger in NJ for over 20 years. After leaving Dowell, he spent many years as a transportation specialist.

Purdie was a devoted husband and father, and the social butterfly of the family. His family remembers him as a practical joker. Many people knew him for the way he took care of others and also for his delicious banana pudding, a recipe passed down from his late mother.

Larry leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Diane Scipio Purdie; two daughters LaRell Purdie, Katina Purdie, one son Brian Scipio; one brother, William Kitt Jr (sister-in-law Lena Kitt). He also leaves many sisters- and a bother-in-law and countless nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Husband, father, brother, Uncle Larry, your earthly body has left us, however, we will always have our cherished memories. rest in eternal peace with our Heavenly Father. Our love is with you always; your love is with us always.
