LaRue Armstead Banks took the wings of tghe morning on October 1, 2009. Daughter of the James clarence Harris Sr. and Francis Mytle Copeland-Harris, she was born on May 24, 1930 in Baltimore, Maryland. She was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System. On May 30, 1951, LaRue married the late william McKinley Armstead Jr. From this union she was blessed with ten children. At an early age she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at St. Paul Methodist Church. She later joined Jones Tabernacle baptist Church, and then in her later years she became a member of Freedom Missionary Community Church where she was a faithful and dedicated member. On October 5, 2006 LaRue married Edwqard Banks, Sr. From this union she was blessed with five stepchildren. She worked at read's in Mondawmin Shopping Center as a waitress and she also worked at Levendale as a dietician. She was always cooking something. Everyone who knew her will miss her hot rolls and homemade cakes. LaRue was preceded in death by her husband, William McKinley Armstead Jr.; two sons Rodney Armstead and Steven Armstead; daughter Carolyn Armstead-Carter, five sisters, Mytle Jones, Emma Williams, Faith Stewart, Barbara Edwards and Ruby Ford; brother, James Harris Jr. LaRue leaves to cherish her memory; her husband, Edward Banks Sr., four sons, William, Gary, Don and Wayne; three daughters, Darlene, Reena and Estelle; three daughters-in-law, Romaine, Wilhelminia and Glenda; son-in-law Keith Carter, two sisters, Gloria beverly and Lucille vaugh; brother-in-law, David Edwards; five stepchildren, Michael, Kevin, Glen, Carvel and Towanda; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and devoted friends.
