Remembering LaToiya
LaToiya DaShawn Lounds. the daughter of the late George A. hounds and Stephanie McNeil. was born on August 29.1985. at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore. Maryland. LaToiya was affectionally known as "Tee" or "Toi" by her family and friends. She was educated in Baltimore City Public Schools where she excelled academically and was actively involved in JR ROTC. Her passion for singing lead her to participate in various school choirs and neighborhood marching bands.
Prom an early age. LaToiya accepted Christ under the guidance of Rev Poole al Ebenezer Baptist Church. She later became a member of Second Antioch Baptist
Church, led by Rev James W. Smith, and was part of the youth choir. Her love for singing was known by everyone who was graced by her presence as she would spontaneously burst into song. LaToiya began her work journey al the Baltimore City Police Department
Headquarters. where her dedication was recognized for her ability to assist troubled youth. She continued her compassionate work at Arrow Child and family Ministries and The Children's Guild, providing care and support to students.
Known for her vibrant personality. LaToiya was the heart of the party. She loved a good laugh and had others join in on the laughter as well. She loved to dance: you could find her always on the dance floor. Her bond with her one and only sister. Cindi. was unbreakable as they did everything together, when you saw one. you knew the other wasn't loo far behind.
Always willing to help. LaToiya was just a phone call away for anyone in need.
Her love for children and nurturing spirit welcomed everyone for who they were and encouraged them to reach their full potential.
LaToiya went home to be with the Lord on Monday. May 6.2021. She preceded in death by her father. George A. bounds and aunt. Shari Tapper.
