Lavinia Patterson Robinson was born October 7, 1932 in Baltimore, Maryland. After a lengthy illness, she entered into eternity on Sunday, October 11, 2009. She received her education at Paul Laurence Dunbar High School in Baltimore. Lavinia met and married her lifetime sweetheart, the late Alexander Robinson Sr., on October 10, 1953. From this union ten children were born. After raising her children, Lavinia gainfully employed by the City of Baltimore as a School Crossing Guard where she remained until 1999 when she retired after thirty-two years of service. Upon retiring, Lavinia spent most of her time caring for her family and spoiling her grandkids. Her kindness overflowed into the community where she povided food, clothing and shelter for the less fortunate. Lavinia's hobbies included family trips to Sandy Point and Gunpowder Falls State Park, annual outings at the Coast Guard Yard and celebration the birthdays of her grandkids; of which, until her illness, she never missed one. She made numerous friends wherever she went and will be sincerely missed by everyone who knew her. She was always a true friend and a devoted family woman. Lavinia leaves to mourn; seven sons, Paul, Anthony, Michael, Darnell and Darryl sons Alexander, Jr. and Ronald preceded her in death; three daughters, Dianne Jackson, Charlotte Hines and Katrina smith; thirty-eight grandchildren- thirty-seven great-grandchildren and one great-great granchild; five daughters-in-law, two sons-in-law, a host of nieces, nephews and devoted lifetime friends. She was preceded in death by four sisters Maggie, Clara, Jenny and dora and five brothers Juckey, Joseph, Pablo, Bronnie and William.
