Mr. Lawrence Edward Collins of Baltimore Maryland entered into eternal rest at 2:45pm on Wednesday April 3rd, 2013 at University of Maryland Hospital. Lawrence was born to the late Levin and Ollie Gunther Collins on October 3rd, 1935 in Accomack County Virginia. He was the youngest son of 14 siblings of whom 11 preceded him in death. His only child, Ronnie E. Collins also preceded him in death. Lawrence relocated to Baltimore Maryland in 1953, where he met and fell in love with his devoted wife of 55 years "Shirley". He received his formal education in the Accomack county public school system. He was employed at General Motors for more than 40 years before retiring in 2000. Lawrence was the owner of Paramount Barber Shop on Pennsylvania Ave in Baltimore for more than 50 years. Lawrence was a sports avid fan, he enjoyed sports of all kind. Lawrence was a member of the New Psalmist Baptist church and also attended Ebenezer AME Church with his wife Shirley. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife Shirley H. Collins; granddaughter Ashia Collins of Baltimore, MD; one brother Genesis Collins of Baltimore, MD; one sister Ethel Ann Collins Finney of Millsboro, Delaware; 4 sisters in-law, Sarah G. King and Betty Jones of Summerton, SC, Olivia Collins of Danville, VA, Maggie Collins of Painter, VA; a goddaughter Stephanie Roberson of Baltimore, MD and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
