Mr. Lawrence Lee Hayes Sr. so fondly known as Babe was born on August 16, 1936 in Baltimore, Maryland. He is the son of the late Annie B. Hayes and Gilbert Hayes.

He was joined in holy matrimony on August 18,1958 to Jerlene Toliver Hayes. Out of this union came four children: the late Cynthia Denita Hayes aka Queen, the late Lamont Antonio Hayes aka Marty, Keith Darrell Hayes and lastly his namesake Lawrence Lee Hayes Jr. aka Boo.

Babe received is education in the public school system of Baltimore, Maryland. He joined the workforce and began a career as a long shore- man at the Baltimore City waterfront where he enjoyed numerous years of work with his beloved brother the late Garland "Sammy" Hayes. In addition he worked part-time as a hauler with B. Morton Express. There he had a festive time with his late son Marty and his brother Mickey. It seemed wherever Babe settled for work there was always the element of family.

For those who knew and loved Babe knew that Babe loved nothing more than his family, himself and life!!! And woke up daily with a "Vegas" state of mind. However in the latter years of his life Babe accepted Jesus Christ in his life and received the fellowship hand shake at Gethsemane Baptist Church where he was an active and tithed member.

Babe died on August 15,2016 at Holly Hills Rehabilitation Center located in Towson, Maryland.

Babe leaves to mourn his children Keith Hayes, Lawrence Hayes Jr, Yvette Hayes, Antonio Hayes and Sonia Hayes. Brothers Mickey Hayes and Wayne Hayes. Sister Pauline Hayes-Carroll. Sister-in laws Marlene Francis and Barbara Hayes. A host of grandchildren, nieces & nephews, cousins and of course is multitude of friends
