Lawrence McKinley Coclough Jr.
was born July
27,
1960 to the late Audrey and Lawrence McKinley Coclough Sr. in Baltimore, Maryland
.
After a lengthy illness, Larry (as he was affectionately known) quietly passed away on October
15,
2015. Larry, along with his siblings was raised in the church
.
As with life however, GOD loves us so much that we are free to choose which led Larry to make some Challenging choices along the way.
Larry was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System. He received an AA degree in Sociology in 1986 from Baltimore City Community College. At the time of this last illness, Larry was enrolled in Sojourner Douglas College studying to become a Registered Nurse.
In the late 80's Larry worked at Great Oaks Center in Silver Spring, Maryland as an Activities Therapist. Larry worked at Rosewood State Hospital as well as Shoemaker State Hospital during 1990 ' s as a Nurses' Technician. Larry was an entrepreneur. He owned and ran a neighborhood store at Loch Raven and Homewood Street. In addition, he had a number of other business interests until illnesses prevented him from working effectively.
Also, prior to his illness Larry was a passionate marathon runner. He was awarded medals for the marathons he completed . He spent a lot of his time in the gym preparing for the next race.
Larry was unmarried with no children, but when he wasn't running, he spent a great deal of his time with Iyanna Russell who he loved as if she was his own daughter. Theirs was definitely a strong bond of love.
In addition to Iyanna, Larry leaves to cherish his memory: two sisters, Marva Walker (Anthony) and Linda Bethea (Wilbert); two brothers, Warren and Gary Coclough; nine nieces and nephews , Angel, Antho- ny, Erskine, Van , Shina, Michelle, Stacy , Travis, and Emani and a host of other relatives and friends.
