Lawrence Pitt, son of the late Clarence Pitt, Sr. and Helen White-Pitt was born on July 16,1948 and departed this life on March 18, 2015. Lawrence married Carolyn Long on July 8, 1989 and to this union 2 children were born. He was a loving husband for 25 years and a devoted father. He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Mrs. Carolyn Pitt; 2 daughters: Keona Pitt (Harvey Scott) and Virginia Pitt (Joseph Colbert, III); 6 grandchildren: Imara, Jaliyah, Alannah, Alexis, Chalyea, Chayse. Bertrina who preceded him in death, Sierra and Tynesha. 4 sisters: Pearl Coley, Dorothy Harrell, Helen Rockett and Virginia Pitt all of Portsmouth, VA; 7 brothers: James Pitt, Benjamin E. Pitt, and Richard Pitt who preceded him in death, Clarence D. Pitt, Jr., Edward L. Pitt, and Thomas Pitt all of Portsmouth, VA. and Landis Pitt of Baltimore; 4 sister-in-laws: Jane Russell Clayborn who preceded him in death, Margaret Wiggins, Grizzell Long, and Patricia Long; 3 brother-in-laws: Alvin Long, Sr., James Long, Sr. and Lenwood Long; And a host of other relatives and friends. Lawrence will be greatly missed by us all and there will be a void space in all our hearts by his early departing.
