Obituary

Born to the world on March 30, 1931 in Natchez, Mississippi, was the most caring person I have ever met in my life. That person was Leanna Connor. Her parents Charles Connor and Agnus Connor were the proud parents of twelve wonderful children, Alberta Connor, Joseph Connor, Richard Connor, Flemon Connor, Almeter Connor, Ida Connor, Luella Connor, Marie Connor, Leanna Connor, Carrie Connor, Charles Con- nor, and Nelson Connor. While Leanna was still under her parents guidance she confessed her faith in Christ and was baptized at the Grove A.M.E. Church in Natchez, Mississippi. In the late 1940's Leanna met and married the late Robert Lee Shilkins, and from this union came their one and only son, Robert Lee Shilkins Jr. who preceded her in death. Most people knew her as Leanna, but to her family and close friends she was known as LC. LC was the person that anyone in the family can contact for a great conversation or just the best advice. LC never turned anyone away and would feed everybody (and she can cook southern goodness). All of her adult life LC was a seamstress. Before she retired she worked at Leather Rite Cleaners on Light Street. After retiring she just started her second chapter in life to do whatever she wanted, like dancing. Partying and dancing was what her and her sister Ida did regularly. She also enjoyed daytime soap operas and westerns as well as an occasional game of baseball and golf During her second chapter she met Marvin Fletcher whom she never stopped loving. She leaves to mourn: one surviving sister, Carrie Connor who she loved to talk to everyday;one sister-in-law, Wilma Connor; one daughter-in- law, Deborah Shilkins. LC only child had two daughters, granddaugh- ters, Jacqueline Ennels (Milton Ennels) and Tonya Pulliam (Willie Pull- iam); nephew, Thomas Cook; great nieces and nephews, Tyrone Overby, Kellee Kess, Monica Waters, Aaron Moon, Stacy Lewis, Carla Hackly, Ronnie Moon, Deana Bowman, and Carmen Cook; great grandsons, Dondre Ennels and Kevin Sykes; great granddaughters, Kashay Sykes and Kashira Sykes and a host of other great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
