Lena Mae Brooks, daughter of the late Mr. and

Mrs. Henry Dixon, was born on May 5, 1927 in

Scotland Neck, North Carolina. She departed

this life on May 4, 2019.

Lena was formerly educated in the Scotland

Neck, North Carolina School System. She

became employed at Douglas High School as a

Lead Cafeteria Cook.

She married the late Charles Brooks Sr., and

out of this union five children were born,

Charles Brooks Jr, Marsha, Barbara Aka:

Mary; two sons: Leonard and Martin. Lena

had several interests but gardening was her

passion. Most people that knew her would say

she had a green thumb. Mom also enjoyed

sewing. But, it was her personal love and

commitment to others that was the most

telling of her Christian faith. She had the

compassion for people in need.

She became an active member of Manna

Bible Baptist Church. She was filled with

boundless energy. Mom had an unforgettable

personality and an uncompromising faith.

Her favorite word was "I Believe." She was

nonjudgmental and had a way of putting

people at ease, or getting them straight. She

loved her family, extended family and friends

dearly. When Mom passed from this life into

eternity, we lost a true servant of God.

"Well done, good andfaithful Servant

of God."

She leaves to morn: her devoted sister mother,

Maple Higgs; two daughters, Marsha 1.

Randolph and Mary Ademiluyi; two sons,

LeonardW. Brooks and Martin Brooks ;three

daughters-in-law, four sons-in-law, eleven

grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren,

adopted children, nieces, nephews, cousins

and a host of other relatives and friends.

Glory be to God for all the good things He

has done. We thank God for our Mother. The

Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away. Blessed

be the name of the Lord.
