Obituary

Leo Damon, Jr. (Wee-Wee) was born May 7, 1949 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Rosemary and Leo Damon Sr. He departed this earthly life on Sunday, February 14, 2021 after a lengthy illness.

At an early age he accepted Christ as his personal savior and attended Leadenhall Baptist Church. For many years, he attended Mt. Carmel Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Erastus Johnson and Ebenezer Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Mark L. Saunders. Prior to his illness, he was a faithful member of Mount Pleasant Church and Ministries under the leadership of Clifford M. Johnson where he volunteered on the Building and Grounds Committee.

Wee-Wee received his education through Baltimore City Public Schools and graduated from Southern High School. Upon his completion of high school, he decided to serve his country and joined the United States Army in 1969. He was a trained Sharp-Shooter and Chef. Wee-Wee received numerous citations and medals including achieving rank as a Specialist 5 (Sergeant) at discharge. After leaving the Army, he spent many years working as a Certified Engineer. In 2015, Wee-Wee retired from William T. Burnett where he served as Union Representative.

Wee-Wee was a jack of all trades. He could fix anything. He was often called on by family and friends to help with home projects and he never hesitated to go. Wee-Wee enjoyed playing music, photography, playing basketball, audiobooks, watching westerns, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Wee-Wee was joined in holy matrimony to Joanne Nathaniel on October 6, 1973 and from this union they had two daughters Kia and Kim. They were happily married for 48 years and she remained faithfully dedicated to him and tenderly cared for him until the end.

Wee-Wee's light will continue to shine through his wife, Joanne; 2 daughters Kia Damon-Olson and Kim Damon-Gant, 1 son Jamar Damon; 2 son-in-law's, Dan Olson and Antoine Gant, 4 grandchildren Kendell, Jerrae, Kennedy, and Antoine; 4 sisters Martine Hill, Patricia Gaines, Virginia Armstrong, and Juanita Boyce; 1 brother Jerome Damon, 5 brother-inlaw's Bill, Mike, Leon, Andrew, and Carl; 4 sister-in-law's Mary, Carolyn, Ruth, and Pearl, 3 God daughters Dionne Nathaniel, Dena Guest, and Thetius Cotton; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Wee- Wee was preceded in death by 1 sister (Delores), 3 brothers (James, Ernest, and Chico).
