MRS. LEOLA HOOKS was born on July 3, 1939 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Robert and Evelyn Stevenson. On August 6, 2025, she departed this life due to a brief illness at Harbor Hospice Hospital. Leola was the third oldest daughter. One brother and sister, Robert Jr. and Dorethea Fortune, preceded her in death.

She was married to the late Delray B. Hooks Sr., and from this union they were blessed with seven children. She was a loving grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.

She leaves behind: Delray Jr. (Sheila), Janis, Renne, Karen, Stephanie, Jeffrey and Zelda Hooks; one sister, Elder Shirley Lewis; sister-in-law, Sarah Patricia Hooks and brother-in-law, Wilbur Burrell; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.
