Born to the late Leroy Harris, Sr. and Irene Harris on July 28, 1960. Leroy Jr. was just a toddler stricken with an internal illness, that caused doctors to write him off at an early age. According tyo medical diagnosis and theories, Leroy was to live a very short time. However, God had another plan, and through his grace and mercy Leroy, Jr. lived to enjoy 46 wonderful years of life. Nutsy or Peanut, was the nickname affectinately given to this small framed young man. His strong raspy voice caught everyone's attention, while his big warm smile brightenedyour grayest day. At a very6 young age PEanut was introduced to Christ, under the strong hand of his praying grandmother that late Janie Peterson, and the watchful eye of his mother Irene. He attended Ebenezer A.M.E. and participated in many church activities. Leroy Jr. Peanut was home schooled and later received his GED from the Baltimore City Board of Education. After graduating he worked several years for the Baltimore City Housing Authority, until his illness set in, and he eventually became permanently disabled. Leroy had an undying love for his mother, he often referred to her as his queen placing no other before her. He had a special bond with his brothers, they cared for each other unconditionally. One for all and all for one. His hobbies uncluded drawing, sports, and being with friends. His gift was writing, Leroy was truly a poet, his writing left you feeling is every emotion. All grown up now, so we lovingly call our Peanut, Nutsy. He has beat the offs and left the medical doctors in amazement/ Even though his health deteriorated rapidly and he couldn't always move around to do things he enjoyed, Nutsy had three key elements working in his favor 1 Friends that took time to help him enjoy life, by spending countless hours making sure his disability didn't hinder him from being a young man. 2 Family that loved and supported him, attending to his every need, while encouraging him to always follow his dreams, last but not lease, the most important 3 Faith, yes faith is the reason he stayed with us for 46 years and the reason medical doctors were left wandering. However, we know that God seees all and knows all, therefore God had his own diagnosis and the master plan. Leroy Jr. so fondly known as Nutsy, leaves to cherish his memory, his loving mother: Irene Harris dedicated brothers: Craig, Leo, Mario and Grenton Harris nieces: Shania great-niece: Aniah aunts: Naomi, Hellen and Mary uncles: Ernest, Robert, Robert Lee Harris and James Jr. his loving significant other of 16 years: Daphne Jones her daughter Brittney Jones who Nutsy held close to his heart and referred th her as his step-child. A host of family and cousins, all of which he called his ''favorites''. For the many friends who supported Nutsy until the end, take a moment and reflect back...now smile once again.
