Leroy Carolina, Sr., son of the late Flander Carolina, Sr. and Louise Singletary Carolina, was born on April 27, 1934 in Manning, South Carolina. He suddlenly departed this life on friday, January 27, 2006 after a brief illness. He began his education in Manning South Carolina. At an early age he relocated to Baltimore, Maryland and continued his education in the public schools of Baltimore. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Army and served as a Medic. He later become employed with Bethlehem Steele Sparrows Point Ship Yard for over forty years. On June 25, 1959 he married Marie Parks, from this union two children were born, Leroy Caolina Jr. and Kevin Jerome Carolina. He was a member of American Legion Post #297. Leroy enjoyed traveling, cooking, gardening, sports, watching westerns and he loved his family. He made numerous friends wherever went and will be sincerely missed by all that know him. In his last days from his hospital bed, his words to the family were, to stay together and he stated, ''May The Work I've Done Speak For Me''. He made his peace with God before he departed. Leroy was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters. He leaves to cherish his memory: two sons, Leroy Carolina Jr. Ire of Brandon, Florida and Kevin Carolina of Baltimore, Maryland ; three grandsons, and one granddaughter, Demond Carolina, Kendall Carolina both of Brandon, Florida, Sean Christopher Carolina, Xina Symone Carolina of Baltimore, Maryland; three brothers, John Carolina, Roosevelt Carolina Willie Mae, Louise Carolina; three sisters, Daisy Taylor James, Pauline Alexander, Dolors Stewart Louis; sister-in-law, Rebecca Carolina; and a host of other relatives and friends; and one special niece, Rhonda Allen.
