LILLIAN LOUVINIA KESS, daughter of the late Robert and Alverta Booker, was born July 19, 1932 in Anne Arundel County, Maryland and departed this life on August 20, 2014. Lillian received her education through the Anne Arundel County Public School System and graduated from Bates High School, Class of 1950. Lillian, affectionally known as "Lil", served within the United Methodist Women's Unit, was the Hospitality Committee Chairperson, and was an usher for John Wesley United Methodist Church for over fifty years, including service as its president. She was also a member and officer of civic and community organizations ineluding the Flamingo Social Club, the Busy Bees and the Freetown Improvement Association. In 1973, lillian was united in holy matrimony to Russell Irving Kess with whom they raised a blended family of eight children. Lil was a Manufacturing Specialist with Westinghouse for 25-plus years and retired in 1994. She loved to travel, go to shows, the casinos, and spend holidays with her family. Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Alverta Booker and sister, Alverta Virginia Brown. She leaves to mourn: seven children, Richard Swett, Darlene Kess, Albert Swett (Valerie), Sheila M. Swett, Barbara Ann Grimes (David), Russell Kess (Arkaime) and Kevin Kess; two sisters, D~.:othy Hudson and Shirley Hardee; thirteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Marie Kane; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
