LILLIE PEARL MICKENS was born on january 3, 1942 to the late and proud parents Cletha Williams and James Atkinson. She started her education in Goldboro, North Carolina and completed in Baltimore, Maryland. She was formerly married to the Daniel R. Mickens, Sr. out of the union was born eight children. She later met her companion, the late James Wise, Sr. Lillie Pearl was a strong woman of faith, who believed in the Lord Jesus Christ. She loved her children, grandchildren, family and friends unconditonally. Her willingness to give was unmeasurable, even if it was her last. She strengthened other with spiritual encouragement. I remember how she loved having church service in her home and a deep passion for sewing and crocheting, a green thumb for gardening and a love for watching sci-fi movies. She leaves to cherish her memory: five children, Daniel Jr., Rosalyn John, Douglas creala, Dapheen, Sonia Glen and the late Donald Lee, Lamont White and Mary Mickens; nineteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; thirteen sisters, Janice, Joyce, Diane, Carolyn, Sheila, Maryalice, Mary, Joyceann, Gondelette, Esoida, Shirley, and the late Sheilah Barber and Betty Spence; five brothers, James Jr., Reginald, Eugene, Jordan, and the late Charles Harris; a future daugther-in-law, Allison Haydel, as well as a host of family and friends.
