IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Linda A.
Bessicks
December 27, 1947 – February 21, 2018
Linda was the daughter of the late Albert Dumar Holley and the late Emma Jo-
sephine Ware Holley. Linda was born on December 27, 1947, in Baltimore. She
departed this life February 21, 2018.
Linda attended Baltimore City Public Schools and received a High School diplo-
ma. She attended Morgan State University and received her Bachelor's Degree
in Elementary Education and her Master's Degree in Early Childhood Develop-
ment. She used the knowledge she learned and went onto work in the Baltimore
City Public Schools as an Elementary teacher from 1975-1998. She also worked
as a reading teacher at Baltimore Polytechnic Institute High School for a brief
time.
Linda met Joshua Henry Bessicks Jr in 1963. They married on March 21,1970
and were married for 48 years! From this union they had Joshua Henry Bessicks
III in 1982 and Lindsay Michele Bessicks in 1985. They have one grandchild,
Joshua Owen Bessicks IV born in 2015.

member and a Silver Soror (25 years or more) in the organization. She actively
participated until she became ill but she always remained financial! Linda loved
to watch TV. Her favorite shows were Law and Order: SVU, Investigative Dis-
covery Channel, Animal Planet, Young & Restless and she hated Victor New-
man! She also was an avid reader and Youtuber.
In
High School she was a Ma-
jorette and later on she became an avid bowler. She listened to R&B music and
loved dancing. She was an artist who loved to paint and a seamstress who made
both of her prom dresses.

once in a lifetime. She was a 'Ray of Sunshine' to her friends and family. She
would hold a conversation with anyone, strangers and friends alike. She had a
way of making everyone feel comfortable and wanted. She had an infectious
smile that would light up a room. She was nothing short of amazing!
