Obituary

LI N DA D A R N ELL SPE A R M AN , daughter of the late Glenda Spearman Hall and the late
Melvin Sylvester Wilson, and stepdaughter to the late William C. Hall, was bom on May
9, 1951 in Baltimore, Maryland.

Linda attended Baltimore City Public Schools and graduated from Paul Lawrence Dunbar
High School in 1969.

After graduating from Dunbar, she worked several jobs until she began her career in food
service and nutrition at Maryland General Hospital. She possessed many abilities that
allowed her to become as skillful as she was.

Linda was a life-long resident of East Baltimore. Always gracious and friendly, she had an
ease with people. Those who came to know her remember her for her easy smile and
demeanor, her generosity, and her love of people. Linda loved reading, cooking, creating
menus, listening to music, and spending time with her family. Holidays were her favorites
as she loved to plan the menu in advance and cook for her family with the help of her
daughters.

Linda was a woman of faith, she instituted this in her daughters in her own way. Baptized
at the early age of 12, she grew in her faith and knowledge of the Lord. Although she
attended many churches as she matured, she found a church home at The People's Church
of Baltimore where she was again baptized. Linda attended regularly, even volunteered to
serve the church any way she could. Eventually, her illness made it physically unable to be
of service to her church home, but she consistently studied the word, watched, or listened
to various sermons on the radio and television. She prayed consistently for her family, who
she loved dearly, and her beloved friends.

Throughout her illness, Linda could be heard saying, "Thine will be done ... ", for she knew
that no matter the outcome, all would be well. She claimed her victory on March 12,2019
where she slipped away peacefully surrounded by her loving and devoted family. Her
smile, comforting presence, and good-natured sassiness will be dearly missed.

A loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Linda will be missed by many.
