Obituary

Lisa Lenay Rice Green a life-long resident of Baltimore was born on February 26, 1961 to Leonard and Carolease Rice. She was the oldest child of four from this union. Lisa was preceded in death by both of her parents. She unexpectedly was called home on Tuesday, October 4,2016.

Lisa was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System earning her high school diploma from Mergenthaler (Mervo) Vocational Technical High School in 1979. She studied culinary arts while at Mervo; this skillset came in handy later on in her life. Lisa worked for several well-known companies in the Baltimore - area as a bookkeeper but that was not her passion. Cooking was her passion. Using what she learned at Mervo and her entrepreneur skills she eventually started a catering business. Being an avid entrepreneur, Lisa also owned and operated a successful tax and bookkeeping service. The businesses kept her busy and in constant de- mand. It gave her an opportunity to work with hundreds of people and allowed her a chance to mentor her daughter in the family businesses.

Lisa loved her children, listening to music, dancing, traveling, friends and most importantly family. She believed in living life to the fullest and wanted nothing more than to share experiences with family and friends. She always enjoyed traveling with family and was planning a trip with her best friend before her passing.

Worshipping was a large part of Lisa's life. Growing up in the church, Lisa realized the need to find a church home. She found that home at A Ne Beginning Christian Church on January 25, 2015. Her new church home allowed her relationship with God to flourish and put her at peace.

She leaves to mourn her memory: her husband, Joe Green Jr.; daughters. Lenay Smith and Charleasea Fowlkes; sons, Charles Fowlkes and Leonard- Carlos Fowlkes; grandsons, Ethan Hall and Logan Smith; grandmother.
