Lloyd Carson Gerald L.C. as he was affectionately called went to be with the Lord on Tuesday September 16, 2008. He answered his call from Heaven at Gilchrist Hospice in Maryland. He was born on April 22, 1932 in Robeson County, North Carolina to the late William Oliver Gerald and the late Bertha Thompson Gerald. His walk with the Lord began at an early age when he joined Hilly Branch Baptist Church and remained a member until he moved to Upstate New York while in his twenties. He was joined in Holy Matrimory to the late Eleanor Barden, and to this union three children were born; Joan, Jacqueline and Lloyd Agronsky. He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church and was ordained as a deacon. During his life, Lloyd worked at many vocations, most notably in the dry cleaning industry. He an entrepreneur at heart and later formed Sunrise Dry Cleaners and Gerald's Janitorial Service. Lloyd loved to sew and designed his wife first concert robe. Also, he enjoyed fishing, watching baseball, football, basketball, talking on the phone, and visiting with family and friends. He leaves to cherish his memory; two daughters, Joan and Jacqueline; son Lloyd Agronsky; sister, Everlena McCrae;l brother, Jefferson Gerald; six grandchildren, Jonina, Jondell, Alexandra, Rahn, Marquita and Keanu; great-grandson, Bishop; daughter-in-law, Patricia Gerald; sons-in-law, Rahn Rice and John Trotman; sisters-in-law, Mary Gerald, Florence Gerald, Glennie Bethea and Millie Barden; brothers-in-law, Willard Barden and Jefferson Barden; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and his companion Lillie Traynham. He was preceded by four brothers, Paul, Roscoe, Stacy and Thomas; and four sisters, Rose, Litres, Pauline and Eva Gray.
