Lois Catherine Allen was born on April 15, 1946 to the late Samuel and Nasiree Allen in Mount Croghan, South Carolina. On April 20, 2012, Lois closed her weary eyes and peacefully went home to be with her parents, brothers and Our Heavenly Father, with loved ones at her side. She received her education in both South Carolina and Baltimore, Maryland and retired from the Guest Quarters Hotels and Suites as a supervisor. She was a member of New Shiloh Baptist Church, and in later years became a member of Bethel AME Church. Lois was known for her generous heart. If there was anything you needed, and it was in her power to do it, she didn't give it a second thought. She put many people's welfare and happiness before her own. She gave of herself right up until the time God called her home. Lois loved children and was known as "Mom" to many. She didn't just raise her biological children, but she also helped to raised her siblings' children and their children as if they were her own. To know Lois was to love her. Whomever she met would instantly fall in love with her lighthearted spirit and warm nature. Wherever she went she was sure to make a new friend. Lois loved to make a home. She was highly intelligent, was gifted in many areas, and she enjoyed music, especially the Motown sound. The Temptations were her favorite. Lois was an excellent cook and she was the nucleus of her family. Her spirit and sense of humor were second to none.
