Loretta Campebell, affectionately known as ''Banky'' was born August 1, 1930 in Baltimore, MD. She was the eldest of 13 children born to Frank and Peola Townes. Her parents, three sisters and five brothers preceded her in death. she departed this earth on May 6, 2007, at Maryland general Hospital. She was 77 years old and a resident of Penn North Plaza on North Avenue for over 10 years. Ms Loretta was educated in the Baltimore public shchools and graduated from Douglas High School. She married James Houston Campbell in 1982. She received several awards while working there. In retirement, she enjoyed traveling, cooking, crossword puzzles, and being with her grandchildren. They all called her ''Ma-Ma''. She was a member of the Eastern Stars and a new member of Calvary Baptist Church in Baltimore, MD. Her family says: ''She could take a dollar and bring home two brown shopping bags.'' She is survived by her four daughters and threee son-in-laws, Tellatha and William Wright of Charlotte, NC, Rhonda and Nathaniel Sneed of Baltimore, MD, Romina D. Campbell of Baltimore, MD. and Jervetta and Ronnie Bruce of Charlotte, NC,one daughter-in-law Betty Edwards, fifteen grandchildren, Brian Campbell, Andrea Campbell, Harvey Charles White, Glennard Ford, Sharon Sneed, Nathaniel Sneed, Antwone Sneed, Ryant Cain, Tammy Crooms, Charles Eddwards, Lonnie Edwards, Jeruanna Bruce, Jerron Bruce, Domonique Williams, and Shakia Williams; fifteen great-grand children; two sisters, Shirley Dais and Audrey Royster and two brothers Benjamin Townes and Aaron Townes. Mrs. Campbell was also preceded in death by her husband James H. Campbell, her two sons Houston L. Campbell and Charles David Edwards, III. ''Banky'' will be surely missed. Because she was the glue that kept the family together.
