LORETTA J. JOHNSON,
the daughter of the late Melvin and
Josie Bell Urquhart was born on August 20, 1940 in Baltimore,
Maryland. She departed this life suddenly on February 25,2018.
Loretta received her education in the Baltimore City Public
School System and graduated from Carver Vocational Technical
High School with a license in Cosmetology.
Loretta worked as a Cosmetologist throughout her lifetime. She
also held various other jobs until her retirement from the Phillips
Foods Corporation in 2003.
Loretta, affectionately known as Lo, made numerous close friends
wherever she went and was a fun -loving person. She loved to
laugh, dance, cook, host family gatherings and party. She was
the Life of the party.
Los family and friends meant EVERYTHING to her and she
surely meant EVERYTHING to them. There was nothing that
she wouldn't do for them, especially her nieces and nephews.
She didn't hesitate to feed you when you were hungry and her
door was always open if you needed a place to stay. Lo will be
sorely and deeply missed by everyone who knew her.
Loretta was an avid traveler and traveled to various cities and
countries throughout the world.
Loretta attended the Mount Moriah Baptist Church and accepted
Christ at an early age.
She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted sons Elroy, Jr.
and Xavier Richards; a daughter-in-law, LaTonya Richards;
one brother-in-law, Paul Johnson; two granddaughters, Eltavia
Givens and Danielle Richards; three grandsons, Sean, Xavier
and Lance Richards; one brother Monroe Urquhart, Sr.; two
sisters who preceded her in death (Doris Williams and Constella
Jones) and her husband Albert Johnson who also preceded her
in death. Loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews,
one goddaughter Shankia Mardenborough and a host of other
relatives and friends who all loved her dearly. Special friends -
Doretha Byrd, Vera Drayton & Linda Jones.
