Obituary

Lottie Mae Quarles ''Lo'', daugther of the late Blossie May Utley and late Bosie Spencer, was born on April 7, 1939 in Baltimore, Maryland. She departed this life on December 13, 2006, after a brief illness. Lo, as she was affectionately known, was educated in the Baltimore City public School System. She held various jobs throughout her career, but was a seamstress and tailor by trade. She was married to the late Edward James Quarles Jr., who preceded her in death. She mothered two children: a daughter Arthene Hope Generette; and a son , Amex Emel Quarles, who preceded her in death. Lo was the Matriarch and ''surrogate'' mother of the family. She was known to give advice and lend a helping hand to any and every one in need. Lo enjoyed listing to music and dancing. She loved to knit, sew and would make clothes for all her family and friends. She was a member of the Eastern Star and served as vice president of the tenant committee at her residence. Her warm smile, contagious laughter and motherly manners affected all who knew her. She leaves to mourn; one daughter, Arthene, four brothers, Thomas Henry, Malik and Rodney; three sisters, Sylvia, Lena and Marcella, one brother-in-law, Kenneth three sisters-in-law, Diane, Charlene and Deborah, two granddaughters, Dineashea and Dominique; one grandson, Demtrius; seven great-grandsons, one great-granddaughter and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
