Obituary

A mother is... She who can take the place of all others but no one can take the place of her. Lottie
Delores Wilson, daughter of the late Thomas and Margaret Ponzo was born on May 23,1939 in Wilmington,
Delaware. She departed this life on April 28, 2024 at home with family by her side. Lottie received her
education in the Public School System. She gave her life to Christ at an early age and attended Friendship
Baptist Church when living in Wilmington.
She met and married William B. Wilson and from this union six children were born. She left Wilmington,
Delaware with her husband and children and moved to Baltimore, Maryland for greater opportunities. She
worked for Bon Secure and Eastern Products in a culinary capacity. She retired from Eastern Products in
February 1997.
Lottie was affectionately known as Sue Bell, Baby Sis, Sissy and Bae Suh. Lottie was a very sociable and
likable person. She made a lifelong friend everywhere she went. She was well-known at the many markets
she frequented with a pocketbook full of coupons.
Lottie loved her family, especially her boys. She was an EXCELLENT cook and was known for "Lottie's Soul
food Kitchen". She prepared countless meals for family gatherings and never hesitated to gather all her
children and grandchildren together for a fish fry or her golden fried chicken. Her food was loved by many.
For years she lovingly opened her kitchen and her home to everyone in the neighborhood, preparing and
selling dinners. Lottie was the life of the party. She loved to dance and often sang songs that delighted her family. From "Happy Birthday" to Jay Caldwell's "One Day at a Time", she was always ready to entertain.
She enjoyed the excitement of the horse races at Pimlico and loved heading "up the road" to enjoy the
lights and sounds of the casino. Lottie was known for her generosity. She would often make up love
packages for all in need and allow many to shop for free at her supply closet for supplies, toiletries and
whatever she had available. If she had it she was willing to give it away.
As a family we traveled together, cried together and laughed together. We now bare the tremendous loss
of our Mother together. Lottie was preceded in death by her husband, William Wilson, and two daughters;
Charmaine Benjamin and Carmaine McCrimmon-Forrest; grandson Mckenzie Wilson; uncle James
Thompson,   brothers;   Thomas,   Jr.,   and   Louis   Ponzo   and   Doc  Henry  (brother  in-Law);   sisters,   Sophia  Allen, Adlia Moore, Minnie McCoy, and Ruby Thomas; and other family members.
Lottie leaves to cherish her memory three sons; William(Ann), Willard and Alando Wilson, grandson raised as a son, Nevone McCrimmon; daughter, Pamela (Bill) Brown. Her siblings, Shirley Robinson, Emma Golden, Theresa Henry, Anna Ponzo, Samuel (Patricia) Ponzo, Stacy Owens (Prentiss), Lonnie Ponzo; God-daughter, Cheryl Crosby, a devoted lifelong friend, Beverly Mckinney and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
