'It is hard to realize the battle is through, and we must carry on without you. You finished your task the other day, folded your arms and drifted away.'' Lucy Ann Harris, daughter of the late George Moses and Mildred Harris was born on March 4, 1947 in Halifax County, Virginia. She departed this life on January 18, 2008 at Union Memorial Hospital. At age 5, the family moved to Baltimore, Maryland where she graduated from Paul Laurence Dunbar Senior High School in 1965 majoring in business administration. After graduating, Lucy landed a job with two prominent lawyers for a span of three years. She also worked part-time at St.John Christian Community Church as a secretary. Her good work ethics kept her at Coyne Textile Services for 15 years where she served as a union shop steward. Lucy accepted the Lord Jesus Christ at the age of 12 and was baptized at Zion Baptist Church. Lucy was blessed with two children, Kevin T. Harris and Toi D. Harris, who she loved very much. As a single parent there was nothing she would not do to supply all their needs. Lucy married the late Willie Lee Hardy Jr. To that union no children were born. Lucy had many life long and dear friends. She made numerous friends just by sitting on the front steps. You were truly welcome into her home and she loved to entertain. She will be sincerely missed by everyone who knew her. She will always be a true friend. She leavess to cherish her memory: two children, Kevin and Toi Harris Lamont; two sisters, Juanita Davis James and Dorothy Harris-Grant Ralph of Omaha, NE; four grandchildren, Little Kevin, Cierra, Darwin and Heaven; three nieces, Fedoria Amaechi Robin, and Genesis; one nephew, Raphael; six great nieces, Kia, Tadoria, Donita, Tyasia, Diamond and Ma'Khia, two great nephews, JaQuan and Malik. She give thanks to her big brother, mentor, friend and cousin, Ezander Stephens. To the remaining family, aunts, uncles and cousins, Lucy sincerely loved you all.
