Lue Nell Garrett entered this life on august 6, 1921 in Washington, Georgia. She departed this life on February 5, 2011 after a lengthy illness. Lue Nell was the baby of four children born to Tommie McClendon and Pearlie Wooten. Her siblings, Annie McClendon, Will Tom McClendon and Pauline Couch, preceded her in death. Lue Nell's early yeas were spent in Georgia where she was a member of Flint Hill Baptist Church and a graduate of Washington High School. Lue Nell left Georgia and moved to New York. In New York, Lue Nell met and married the late Toy Garrett. They soon moved to Baltimore, Maryland and from this union they had one daughter, Lauretta Garrett. Nell, as she was affectionately known, worked in the Baltimore City School System. She ws employed for twenty years. Nell didn't have a church home, but she loved visiting different churches in the city. Nell loved listening to church services on the radio as she grew older. Nell love to travel and read. Early mornings you could always see her walking around Lake Montebello and then on to the library. Nell leaves to cherish her memory; daughter, Lauretta Molock; two grandsons, Donnie Molock, Jr., and Lamont Molock; four great grandchildren, Antonetta Molock, Maleah and Malek Drake and DaMaya Mol9ock; two very special ladies her caregivers, brenda Cousar and Sylvia Harcum; and a host of cousins her favorite Lureguis and friends.
