Obituary

Lynn Clements, son of the late Benjamin and Emily Clements, was born on May 9, 1925 in Amelia County, Virginia. Lynn departed his earthly life after a brief illness on Monday, May 11, 2009 at Maryland general Hospital. His daughter Shirley Mae Haskins and wife Nannie Lee Clements preceded him in death. Lynn accepted Christ in his life at an early age. He joined and was baptized at the Liberty Baptist Church in Amelia, Virginia. In his later years he attended Mt. Lebonon and frequently attended the neighborhood churches. Lynn was educated at the Brick church School in Amelia, Va. After completing school Lynn enjoyed working on the farm and later enlisted in the U.S. Army. After an honorable discharge Lynn returned home where he met and married the love of his life Nannie L. Jones and they later moved to Baltimore, Maryland. Lynn was a dedicated worker at Bethlehem Steel for forty years. He retired in 1987. Lynn loved entertaining and being a handyman around the house. He would use that "Duct Tape" to fix everything. You could always call on Mr. Lynn if you needed a ride to the grocery store, the bank, or a pick-up from school. Mr. Lynn would always be there for Daniel who he loved dearly. After making his runs he would spend time just "chillin" and "Sittin" on his front steps, and on saturday Night he would head down to the lodge or the garage for some "Shake Down Time." Lynn leaves to tresure his life and memory; two grandchildren, Corey and Jarmon Haskins; three great grandchildren, Deosse, Shacoia and Jayden Haskins of Richmond, Va.; five sisters, Christine White, Queen Reed, Matilda Clements, Katherine Chestnut of Richmond, Va., and Elizabeth Mitchell of Amelia, Va.; two sisters-in-law, Gladys Clements of Amelia, Va. and Evelyn Tyler of White Plains, N.Y.; four brothers, Alaska Clements of Washington, D.C., Charlie Clements of Alexandria, Va., William Clements of Amelia, Va. and Julius Tyler of White Plains, N.Y.; two brothers-in-law, William Squires and Robert Reed of Richmond, Va..; and two special nieces, Blanch Wade and Angela Reed- Borley of Baltimore, Md. and a host of other relatives and friends.
