M. Lydia Berry of Baltimore, Maryland passed away peacefully on October 23, 2024 at the Autumn Lake Nursing Facility in Baltimore, Maryland. Lydia was the youngest daughter of the late Samuel Levi and Mary Mildred Scott.
Lydia married Elder James Berry. From that union they were blessed with a son, Jerrell Harrison Berry.
Lydia attended Forest Park High School in Baltimore, Maryland, and the Community College of Baltimore. After high school Lydia worked several jobs including Union Memorial Hospital as an OR Technician.

Lydia had many hobbies, however, she mostly enjoyed singing in the church choir.
On Sunday, July 15, 2001, Lydia was ordained as a Deacon at New Creation Baptist Church in Wheaton Maryland under Rev. Dr. Ella V. Redfield. Deacon Berry was always thoughtful, kind, caring, and blessed the church through her ministry of music.

She leaves to mourn her passing: one son: Jerrell Harrison Berry, Daughter-in-Law, Cikeithia Berry of Washington, DC.; one sister: Sandra L. Requer, three brothers: John A. Scott, Charles A. Scott, of Baltimore, Maryland, and Elijah J. Scott of Atlanta, Georgia.
