Obituary

Mae Ethel Thomas Lawson, the second of six siblings, was born March 5th, 1921 in Gallagher, West Virginia to the late John and Hattie Jackson. She peacefully transitioned into eternal rest March 9, 2021 at the age of 100 years.

She had been an active member of John Wesley United Methodist Church in Baltimore MD since 1958. She loved the Lord and over the years she had been a Sunday School teacher, a Senior Choir and Comfort Choir member, past President of The United Methodist Women, Mission Coordinator of the United Methodist Church, and Class Leader and member of the Wesleyites Organization.

She was united in marriage to John Thomas, the love of her life, for thirty-four years until his death. There were no children born to that union.

Years later, Mae Ethel was blessed to marry Joseph Lawson. They were married eleven years until his death.

She enjoyed concerts, theater, and going out to dinner with friends, and traveling to family reunions. Mae Ethel loved her family.

Now the time has come for Sabbath Rest. She was preceded in death by her siblings: James A Jackson, Herbert Jackson, Harold Jackson, Mary L Jackson, and Doreather Singleton. She leaves to cherish her memory a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and step-grandchildren, and many friends.
