Obituary

Mae Willis Solomon, the daughter of Newton and Annie Bess was born on February 20, 1930 in Hartville, South Carolina. She passed away peacefully at her home in Baltimore, Maryland on February 11,2015. She attended public school in Darlington, S. C. She was the captain of Butler High School basketball team. She also attended Morris College. She met and married the late Zaddock Solomon of Lynchburg, South Carolina in 1948. She was a devoted wife for 57 years, a loving mother of six and an extraordinary steward of her home. She loved her family, gardening, sewing, decorating and cooking and devoted much of her time and energy to speaking truth and raising her children. She was an active member of the Mt. Ararat Baptist Church. Her loving memory will be cherish by her sister, Lurlean Mack of Hartville, South Carolina; her son, Cureton Solomon Sr. (Deyanira) of Severn, Maryland; her two daughters, Lavonia Powell of Memphis, TN and Altermese Johnson of Baltimore, MD; she leaves 13 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and stepson, Napoleon Williams of Sugarland, Texas. She was preceded in death by her sons, Welles Solomon, Pernell Solo- mon and Zaddock Solomon Jr. Viewing Joseph H.
