Obituary

MAGGIE MAE MORTON born February 27, 1938, passed away on July 14,2014, after a short illness in Baltimore, Maryland. She was the second of four children born to Sallie and James Anderson. Maggie lived in West Baltimore most of her life. She attended Baltimore City Public Schools. She enjoyed life and loved the family gatherings; she was a fabulous cook and enjoyed cooking for her family. Early in life Maggie married Raleigh Morton and from this union had three children. She was affectionately called "Aunt Nana" by her nieces and nephews. There were times when her family stayed with her. She was a pillar to her family, putting them first. She always embraced family and friends if they needed help. She was soft spoken and rarely raised her voice. Maggie worked 30 years at McCormick & Company. She took pride in her work and made many friends there. During her later years her hobbies were playing video games and card games. Honey called her the "Queen of the deck". Maggie especially enjoyed playing Bid Whist and was always on the winning team. She loved to read, and listen to jazz. She also had a love for cats and had three of them. Maggie had a special relationship with her only daughter "Honey", they were best friends. Her sons were very supportive of her and she had a strong bond with them. She was preceded in death by her son, Arnold Morton; brothers, Edward and James "Buster" Anderson; and sister, Dorothy "Dot" Phillips. She leaves to cherish her memory son, Derrick Morton, daughter, Rawlene "Honey" (Charles "Tony" Williams); grandsons Dwight Morton (Michelle), Corey and Terrance Williams; nieces, nephews, Goddaughter Charlise "Lisa" Darby, three brothers-in-law; three sisters-in-law and a host of cousins and friends.
