Obituary

Maglean Marie McFadden, was born April 9, 1925 on a beautiful spring day to the late Ernest & Annie Cooper of Clarendon County, South Carolina. She completed her education in the Clarendon County Schools. A strong, yet quietand unassuming young lady left South Carolina to meet her Beau, the late Samuel McFadden, who also hailed from South Carolina. From this union came The McFadden Five. Maglean was a very supportive and humble wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend to all who came in contact with her. Maglean worked for many years at Car-Lowery Glass Company, Chizok Amuno Cingregation, and Mayflower Textiles prior to retiring in 1996. A family woman who took pride in her home and family, you could always find ''Mom'' at home supporting her kids. While working, she would call home to find out what mischief happened during the day. Maglean was a born-again believer in the Lord Jesus Christ. She was active at the Laurel Hill AME Church in Manning South Carolina. After moving to Baltimore and relocating to northwest Baltimore in 1970, she and her family united with Concord Baptist Church under the pastorate of Reverend Dr. Matthew R. Silver. During her years at Concord, she was active with the Retiree Ministry and The Sanctuary Choir until her health began to fail. Her most memorable joys included watching her kids and grandkids serve the Lord. She leaves to celebrate her memory: a step-mother, Ms. Rosa Lee Cooper of Manning South Carolina; the McFadden Five: Loretta, Raymond, Brenda Finance Anthony, Deacon Kevin Bonita, and Reverend Timothy Rhonda all of Baltimore; and six grandchildren: Christopher, Terrance, Kendra, Bryia, Shermia, and Taylor. She was also the product of a large praying tribe of siblings which included eight sisters and five brothers. Alvin, Edward, John, Willie, Mary and Louise preceded her in death. The remaining siblings include: Henry Lucy Cooper of Upper Marlboro; Ernestine Pitts of Baltimore; Vernell Willie McKinney of Seat Pleasant; Anne James Rucker of Fort Washington; Helen Charlie of Manning, South Carolina; Evelyn Cooper of Landover, and Virginia John Brailsford of Suitland. She also leaves some 35 nieces and nephews and many other cousins, relatives, and close family friends.
