Margaret Ree Taylor Lowery
~ ~ was born in Rocky Mount, North
Carolina on September 30, 1926 to the late James Taylor and
Laura Knight. She was the second of four children. She departed
her earthly life to gain her heavenly home on September 7, 2018
-just shy of her 92nd birthday.
Margaret
was a beautiful young lady who graduated from the
historic Booker T. Washington High School in Rocky Mount, NC.
She was a licensed cosmetologist and later became certified as a
Licensed Practicing Nurse in Durham, NC.
In 1947Margaret married the love of her life, Earl David Lowery.
They moved to Baltimore, MD and spent the next 64 years sharing
an enriching life together.
From this loving union came two sons, James E. Lowery and
Victor A. Lowery. She loved her sons dearly and was dedicated
to her family.
Margaret
demonstrated her faith by living a God-fearing life. Her
faith was nurtured at the historic Ebenezer A. M. E. Church, where
she was a member of Precious Gems. Margaret cared for patients as
a licensed nurse at Sinai and Union Memorial Hospitals for over 40 years.
She found joy in extending her gift of care and hospitality with all her
family members and friends.
Margaret
was a fun-loving person. She enjoyed cooking succulent meals for
family and friends. She loved to shop and was a "Fashionista" before the
name became popular. Margaret loved with humility and had a great sense
of humor and laughed often, always willing to sacrifice her time and
resources for the wellbeing of others. She was not satisfied with receiving
her ultimate crown until everyone she loved was "alright". Margaret was a
strong woman who fought a good fight and kept the faith.
In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her
husband, Earl D. Lowery; son, James E. Lowery; brother,
James Taylor, Jr.; sister, Dorothy Lee Taylor; sister in law,
Shirley Mae Simon.
Left to celebrate Margaret's life are her son, Victor A. Lowery,
granddaughter, Patricia S. Lowery; daughter in law, Helen R. Lowery;
sister, Lucinda T. Hinton; sister in law, Ray Ann Short; nieces,
Laura H. Hines (Ronald); Cynthia H. Lewis; Vicki H. McCain (Frank);
grand nieces, Heather H. Campbell (Roderick), Taylor D. McCain;
grand nephews, Lance X. Isley, Franklin E. McCain, III (Mac);
great-grand niece, Hannah K. Campbell; goddaughter, Sharon E. Blake
(Patrice) and a host of relatives and friends.
