Margaret M. Parks, daughter of the late Louise McIlwain and Leslie Outen, was born on April 8, 1931 in South Carolina. She departed this life on April 2, 2009 after a lengthy illness. Ms. Parks, known to everyone as "Nanny," received her education in the South Carolina school system. Nanny worked for Johns Hopkins Hospital for forty-two years. After retirement, she became a day care mother to many neighborhood friends and also family. Nanny was a true believer of God and walked by faith day after day. Margaret led a full and productive life. She was an independeant, caring and loving woman. Nanny was a great baker and a wonderful cook. She was a trusted friends, devoted mother, grandmother and caretaker to many. She had two daughters who preceded her in death, Isadora Parks and Murell Carrington. Nanny leaves to mourn; her two sisters, Joann and Minnie; three brothers, Thomas, Junior and Theodore one brother preceded her in death, James; one brother-in-law, William; five grandchildren, Lashand, Tracey, Keah, Tameara and Darius; one honorary granddaughter, Chakia; two sons-in-law, William Reese and Yves; five great-grandchildren, Kenard, Kendra, Rashad, Ka'nya and Chrestopher; two honorary grandchildren, Daniel and McKenzy; adored nephews and niece, William, Terry and Von; one goddaughter, Mamie; a devoted friend, Lillian Smith and a host of other relatives and friends.
