Obituary

Margaret Smith was born on April 30, 1934 In Fairmount, Norht carolinia to the Late James and Flowers Moody. She departed this life on September 8, 2010 after a lengthy illness. Margart, who wss lovingly to her family and friends as Peggy. Margaret was the youngest of three brothers and three sisters; Bobby Moody, Thomas Moody, Leroy thompson, Maxine McKoy, Aleane Alford and Evangeline Watson, who all preceded her in death. She also had three sisters-in-law; Evelyn Moody, Cora Thompson and Iola Moore. Margaret received her education in the North Carolina Public School System. She left North Carolina and lived in New York, Then finally Baltimore, Maryland, where she received her GED. She was employed with C&P Telephone Company,, now known as Verizon for eighteen years. Aside from working at the telephone company, she sold jewerly, copper, snowballs, frozen cups and candy. She also did assisted living for seniors and had a transportation service. Margaret enjoyed spending time with family and friends, going shopping and going out to eat. she enjoyed going to church. Bhe was a longtime member of Leadenhall Baptist Church. She was married to the late David E. Moore, Sr. Out of this union four children were born, Sylvia Milhous, David e. Moore Jr. deceased, Daniel Moore and Chauncey Moore Sr. She later married the late Herman Smith. She leaves to cherish her memory; her daughter, Sylvia Milhous Steve Milhous; her son, Daniel Moore Althea Moore and her son, Chauncey Moore Sr. Robin Moore; eleven grandchildren, Monyette Day Shawn Day, Chauney Moore, Jr., David Orange, DeAndre Hargis, Carmen Barnes deceased, toni Barnes, andre Barnes, Ebony Floyd, Herman Floyd, III, Nathaniel Weaver and Stenven Milhous; twenty-six great-grandchildren; devoted friend, Mavis Anderson; and host of other nieces, nephews, friends and family.
