Marjorie M. Thomas (daughter of the late Reverend George Lyles and Bessie Lyles) was born on December 8, 1943 in Greensboro, Alabama. She departed this life after a lengthy illness on December 20, 2014. Marjorie received her education at Walter Skill Center in Baltimore, Maryland and upon completion went to work as a Nursing Assistant. She married Mr. Richard Thomas and from this union three children; Gretta Thomas, Stacey Thomas and the late Anthony Thomas were born. Marjorie was a jokester and a cook. She was a person who loved to enjoy life with a huge personality and she definitely loved the Lord. She was always the BOSS of everything "BIG BIRD". She will be specially missed by her dear friends and fishing crew Ms. Katt, Ms. Wardell and Ms. Loretta. Marjorie is preceded in death by Jessie Lyles, Ishmael Lyles, George Lyles, Curtis Lyles and Lula Wheeler. Marjorie leaves to mourn two daughters Gretta Thomas and Stacey Thomas, three sisters Annie L. Bates, Mildred Lyles and Ora Grissette, two brothers Leroy and Phillip Lyles, two sister in laws Annie and Alice Lyles, seven grandchildren, one daughter in law Shawon Purnell and a host of friends and extended family members who love her dearly.
