Obituary

Marian Griffin, beloved daughter of the late Julia Griffin and James Nelson Wolfe, departed this life on December 9, 2016 after a brief illness. Marian, one of twelve children was born in Baltimore, Maryland, on May 5, 1941.

"Nin" as she was affectionately called, attended Baltimore City Public Schools. Upon graduation she enjoyed working as a secretary and as a short order cook for Bob Schunick from 1965 until she retired. She loved to cook for her family and friends and it was in the kitchen where one could be sure to find something brewing on the stove along with sharing side splitting laughter and dosing out motherly advice.

Nin was a lover of all genres of music and she loved her daily soap operas. She was a devout lover of Jehovah and for many years she enjoyed Bible study with the Jehovah's Witnesses at The Kingdom Hall. Marian devoted her entire life to raising her children and their children. She was a kind, supportive, loving mother and friend .. Regardless of the situation at hand she was always there for her family and they knew they could count on Mama to be there for them. She accepted this responsibility with grace and joy. She was a giver in every sense of the word, and maintained a strong relationship with all of her children and grandchildren. Along with possessing a big caring heart she was a great listener and she had that ability to put you at ease when one was going through a crisis and/or needed a shoulder to cry or lean on.

Nin had a great sense of humor and could relate to young and old alike. It wasn't hard to fall in love with her she was a beautiful person special in every sense of the word and will be missed far more than words can ever say. God bless you Mama we shall lovingly carry you in our hearts and minds always and may your spirit live with us forever.

Marian leaves to mourn three children, Elaine Griffin, Myra Griffin and John Griffin; (one son, Angelo Griffin, preceded her in death); eight grandchildren, Angie, Donte, Shawnte, Simone, Tia, Angel, Tyeesha and Shaymia'; reat grandchildren; Angelo, lafonte, Chaquan, Tykeen, Aaliyah, Akiyah, Kihyel, Alvin, Triston, Tamara, Ayauna, Ayden, and Asher; two great great grandchildren Alayah and Journey; one sister, Ida Bennett; one nephew, Charles Cottman; The Allen Family; special friends, Andrea Higgins, Barbara Mitchell and Ms. Pat; ten other siblings, preceded her in death and a host of other relatives and friends.
