Martha Doleman, daughter of the late Monroe Curry and Anna Holloman,
was born on August 21, 1946 in Florence, South Carolina. On March 18,
2016, our Lord called her home, from this life to a life eternal in Heaven.
Martha grew up doing her early childhood years in Florence, South Carolina
with her twin sister Mary and other siblings. After the passing of her mother,
Martha came to Baltimore, Maryland to live with her older sister Donella
Lawson. Martha attended Baltimore City Public Schools. She was married to
the late James Doleman, Sr., andfrom this union were born 6 children.
Martha accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior while attending the New
St. John Baptist Church in Baltimore, Maryland and was baptized by Pastor
Andrew C. Brown, who placed her on the Ushers Board. She later became a
choir member under the leadership of Pastor Eugene S. McKinney. She
faithfully served at New St. John until she was unable due to illness. Martha
also volunteered at Metro Delta Head Start and Duke Ellington School, where
she eventually because a teacher's assistant.
Martha was a loving, caring, kind, and very strong woman. Martha was a
great cook and gifted singer, and she had a very warm heart and was a very
giving person. She opened her home up to take care of others, without asking
questions. She would give her last to help a person out. Martha touched the
lives of numerous friends and family members; and she will be missed by
everyone who knew and loved her.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her children; daughters Dianna, Denise,
Maria, Demetris; sons James, Jr and Dominick, Sr; and host of
