Martha Alice Thomas entered this world on Thursday, December 18, 1941 to the late Lucy Ellen Strater in Baltimore, Maryland. She departed this world on Wednesday, December 20,2017 at 9:30 a.m. after battling with a long illness.

Martha received her education through Baltimore City Public Schools System and attended old Fredrick Douglass High School.

Martha joined Perkins Square Baptist Church where she served on the Usher board and sang on the church choir.

Martha worked at Carlisle Glass Factory of Baltimore. She also worked at Montebello Hospital and Kernan Hospital as a Nurse for thirty-eight years.

After retiring, Martha took interest in children less fortunate, having fundraiser's to make sure that they had school supplies and Christmas presents; as well as feeding the community. She was known as Marna Martha and loved by all.

She leaves these to cherish her memory: children, Melody and Lucy Green, Maurice and Lavera McFadden; grandchildren, Wendell and Fraya Arnette, Dion and LaTonya Wright, Leslie Mcfadden; a host of great-grandchildren, a devoted companion for thirty-two years, Elton "Ray" Austin; a friend, Carolyn Brown; a lifelong friend, Ms. Cherry; and numerous relatives and other friends. She was preceded in death by grandson Maurice, Jr. and lifelong friend, Ruby Ward.
