Mr. Marvin Lucas, often known as Luke, was born on June 11, 1935 in the town of Raleigh, North Carolina to Melvin Lucas and Martha Wiggins-Lucas. For most of his life's journey, he resided and served the community in Baltimore, Maryland. Marvin was called home to glory, at 85 years, on March 2, 2021.
Marvin attended public schools in North Carolina and worked at many trades during his life, with a special interest in cars. He was a strong man and an Earthly rock to his family with many talents and gifts to share with others. As a legend in auto racing, cars, and mechanical work, you could find Marvin smiling in his green "Super Gator" and "Hoppin' Gator" Chevy Camaros at Capitol Raceway, where he won many competitions at the track. Marvin devoted much of his life and time helping his family, friends, and others in the community; he was a responsible man and always looked out for his family. Marvin led a life well-lived and loved to keep you laughing. He was a wise man and shared his wisdom with others.
Marvin is survived by his four daughters, Gloria Ann Lucas, Barbara Denise Lucas-Cook (son-in-law Tony Cook), Marlene Zelma Lucas, and Rosalind Gail Lucas; one son, Avon McCray; fifteen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Andrew Lucas and J.C. Lucas; and five sisters, Patricia Lucas, MaryAnn Lucas, Tammy, Lisa, and Cassie and a host of family and friends.
Marvin was preceded in his passing by his beloved wife of 62 years, Mrs. Audrey A. Lucas; his three sons, Marvin Lucas, Jr., Michael Lucas, and Keith E. Lucas; his four brothers, J.B. Lucas, Douglas Lucas, Waddell Lucas, Odell Lucas; and his two sisters, Dorothy Lucas-Johnson and Louise Lucas. Marvin's spirit and legacy will continue to live through his family and friends.
