Mary Ophelia Abraham, daughter of the late William and Mary Dates, was born on September 8, 1934. She departed this life on August 22, 2011 at 7:45 a.m. at the Stella Maris Hospice Center. To her family and friends, she was known as Honeybunch. Mary was baptized in the Catholic faith as a baby. She attended St. Peter Claver School and Church. where she received all of her sacraments. Mary loved serving the Lord. Mary was a graduate of Frederick Douglas High School and Cortez Peters Business School. Mary was united in marriage to Roosevelt G. Abraham. From this union one daughter, Wandaleer was born. Mary worked at Equitable Trust Bank where she retired. She worked for Baltimore City under Mayor William Donald Schaeffer during his terms in office. She retired from Urban Services. Mary received a certificate for outstanding service. She later worked for Christopher Place under Catholic Charties. She retired from the workplace because of her illness. Mary was a faithful member of the Usher Board. She received a Certificate of recognition for work in St. Peter Claver Church's Centennial events in 1988 from pastor, Reverend Robert M. Kearns, SSJ. She was President of the 2100 block of Park Avenue Committee Association. Mary was loved by everyone who touched her life. She loved flower arrangements for all occasions. She loved bingo and bowling and above all her grandson and great-grandchildren. Mary leaves to cherish her loving memory; her husband, Roosevelt G. Abraham; daughter Wandaleer Brogden; grandson Terry L. and wife Lisa Brogden; great-grandson Terry D. and great-granddaughter, Morgan L. Brogden; two sisters, Pauline Dates and Jeanmarie Johnson; one brother, Charles E. Dates; two brothers-in-law, four sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; including two special friends Delores Johnson and Millicent Armstrong.
