The life and spirit of Mary Agnes Smith began on October 3, 1928 in Baltimore, Maryland. She was born to John Smith and Letha Waller. She entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, April 1, 2014. Mary Amason, everyone who knew her called her "Mae." Mary was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System. She attended Carver High School. In her earlier years, she worked at Baltimore City Police Department as a Receptionist and the Post Office in Baltimore City as a Mail Sorter. Later, she decided to stop working to become a housewife and raise her children. She married Robert Lee Amason, Jr. and from that union, they had 8 children, Thomas, Charlotte, Joyce, Vanessa, Andre (Akil), Tanya, Wanda and Dana Amason. She appreciated her family and friends, some her happiest moments was when she spent time with her children, her grand- children and great grandchildren. Mary (Mae) loved cooking large meals for every holiday and occa- sion, she loved communicating daily with all of her children and grandchildren. She received great enjoyment doing crossword and seek a word puzzles, playing cards, watching television and listening to music, especially gospel music. Proceeding her in death, Robert Lee Amason, Jr. (Ex-husband); Thomas Smith (son); Charlotte Amason and Joyce Rodgers (daughters); Michelle Dyson (granddaughter); Darryl and Gerald McCreed (grandsons); Harry and Leon Tillery (brothers); Alameda Tillery (sister). She leaves to mourn and cherish fond memories: her daughters, Vanessa Winchester, Tanya Thompson and Wanda Reed; her sons, Akil Fudail and Dana Amason; her daughters-in-law, Vontessa Smith and Jonell Fudail; her sons-in-law, Shelly Winchester and Frank Thompson; her Sister, Frances Distance (phoenix, ",,"izona); and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, friends and family.
