Mary Catherine Harrell Caldwell , daughter of the late James Harrell and Mildrt Washington, was born October 5, 1929 in Baltimore, Maryland. On May 24, 2013 Ma transition after a brief illness from her earthly home to Glory. Mary received her education in the Baltimore City Public Schools. She later left school to work to help provide for her family. At age 14 she worked as a helper in the kitchen of John Hopkins Sanitarium. Mary worked for many years In the food industry; she went on to retire from the Belvedere Hotel as a prep cook. Mary had an award-winning smile that would warm your heart. Mary loved to dress, cook, and listen to music. She had a genuine love for children, helping raise her nieces and nephews and any children that she came in contact with. She enjoyed spending time with her great grand son Bobby. Mary attended numerous churches during her Christian walk; she was a member of the Christ Redeemed Ministries for five years under the leadership of Pastor Paula Gales. She later moved her membership to Angelic Gospel Ministries under the leadership of Pastor Sherry Harrison. She became known as Mother Mary. She served as church mother until her health prevented her. Leaving to celebrate her life are; her children, Mary C. Slater of New Jersey, Michael L Harrell, Edward Pookey Harrell (Phyllis) of Baltimore, Phyllis Booker of Georgia, Johnnetta Caldwell of Baltimore, one adopted daughter Pastor Sherry Harrison (Marvin) of Crofton, MD. Four sisters, Alma Jarvis, Lillian Pinkett, Irene Thomas, Mildred Collick. Eleven grandchildren, ten great grand and one great, great- grand.
