Obituary

Mary Catherine Coleman was born to the late Tazell and Annie Price on April 7,1910 in Beaverdam, Virginia. She was the oldest of seven children. She fell asleep in death on June 28, 2015. Mary was educated in the Hanover, Virginia public school system. She attended nursing classes in Baltimore Maryland. Mary married Dan Lee Coleman. This union produced 10 children: Vernell (deceased), Doris (deceased) [Jim], Gertrude [James], Elaine, Carole [Henry], Faye (deceased), Leon (deceased) [Sandra], Armenia [Harold, deceased], Jean [Carl], and Johnny [Nadine]. Mary had 30 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. On July 25, 1980 Mary was baptized as a Jehovah's Witness at the Capitol Center in Washington, D. C. She truly loved Jehovah and was a faithful servant until she fell asleep in death. Sister Coleman kept her integrity to Jehovah and she is now in his memory. Grandma was the nicest person I have ever met. Mom was the smartest person I have ever met. She was always fair no matter who was involved because right is right (Straighten Up and Fly Right!). Grandma made everyone feel important and what they said was of value. She made everyone feel comfortable. She liked to cook for us all; especially her pound cake, Jell-o, and her homemade bread was always delicious. She always had time to talk to you no matter who it was or how long. Mary C. (Grandma) Coleman leaves to cherish her memories six children, 24 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and a host of great-great grandchildren. She was also an aunt, great aunt and great-great aunt. Better known as our Mom, Grandma, Great Grandma, GG, Aunt Mary, Great Aunt Mary, and Sister Coleman and friend. She will be dearly missed because we loved her so much. Viewing Joseph H.
